Si, stanno pagando lo scotto dell' inesperienza nella progettazione dei missili balistici di tipo SLBM. La progettazione di questo tipo di missili avveniva prima in un Istituto situato in Ukraina e anche con progettisti di quel paese. Ora per ovvi motivi la Russia sta cercando di portare tutta la fase progettuale e costruttiva dentro il territorio russo. Pero' stanno pagando pegno per questo. E cio' nonostante il fatto che il Bulava sia "un derivato" del Topol-M terrestre, che invece funziona benissimo. Anche in Russia ci sono forti discussioni circa il piano relativo al Bulava. Qualcuno sostiene che si potrebbe anche stoppare e gestire l'upgrade degli attuali SLBM. pero' c'e' un pero', perche' gli attuali SLBM hanno delle incompatibilita' dimensionali con i nuovi sottomarini classe Borei. Staremo a vedere.

concordo non sarebbe cambiato il risultato finale della guerra. ci sarebbero stati molti piu' aerei anglo-americani abbattuti questo si. ma gli imperdonabili errori relativi alla Battaglia d' Inghilterra e all'invasione dell' Unione Sovietica avevano oramai messo la parola definitiva sul destino del Reich.

MOSCOW, October 2 (RIA Novosti) - Russian strategic bombers will conduct training flights with full combat payloads and live fire all cruise missiles on board for the first time in over two decades, an Air Force spokesman said. The live firing exercises in Russia's northern latitudes on October 6-12 are part of the Stability-2008 strategic maneuvers in various regions of Russia and Belarus with the goal of practicing strategic deployment of the Armed Forces, including the nuclear triad, to counter potential threats near the Russian border. "During these exercises, for the first time in many years, the crews of Tu-160 Blackjack and Tu-95MS Bear-H strategic bombers will fly missions carrying the maximum combat payload and fire all the cruise missiles on board," Lt. Col. Vladimir Drik said. Tu-95MS and Tu-160 aircraft can carry six and 12 Kh-55 (AS-15 Kent) long-range cruise missiles respectively. Drik said that the scope of the exercises would be unprecedented and involve, apart from the Tu-160s and Tu-95s, the Tu-22M3 Backfire strategic bombers, air superiority fighters, interceptors and aerial tankers. "The number and variety of aircraft involved in the drills shows the wide range of tasks that will be accomplished during the week-long exercise," the spokesman said. Former Air Force commander, General of the Army Pyotr Deynekin, said Russian Tu-95 bombers had conducted live firing of all their cruise missiles only once before, in 1984. "Tu-160 bombers have never done this because it is very expensive," the general said. According to various sources, in addition to 16 Tu-160 bombers the Russian Air Force currently has 40 Tu-95MS bombers and 141 Tu-22M3 bombers in service.

Captain 1st rank Roman Martov said the scheduled combat exercise of diversified forces would involve over 15 ships, as well as submarines and aircraft. He also said that during the maneuvers the troops "will master crew interaction, forces interoperability and perform over 20 kinds of combat drills". Besides missile and gunnery firing and torpedo attacks, the exercise will feature minefield training. The centerpiece of the maneuvers will be joint cruise missile launch at a surface target performed by a surface ship, a submarine and coast-based weaponry.

MOSCOW, June 24 (RIA Novosti) - Russia must be ready to fight wars in the Arctic to protect its national interests in a region that contains large and untapped deposits of natural resources, a high-ranking military official said in an interview published Tuesday. "After several countries contested Russia's rights for the resource-rich continental shelf in the Arctic, we have immediately started the revision of our combat training programs for military units that may be deployed in the Arctic in case of a potential conflict," Lt. Gen. Vladimir Shamanov, who heads the Defense Ministry's combat training directorate, told the Krasnaya Zvezda (Red Star) newspaper. Under the Law of the Sea, coastal states can declare an Exclusive Economic Zone stretching 200 nautical miles (370 km) from the shore, but this area can be extended if it is a part of the country's continental shelf or shallower waters. Some Arctic shelves extend for hundreds of miles, creating the possibility of overlapping territorial claims. Last August, as part of a scientific expedition, two Russian mini-subs made a symbolic eight-hour dive beneath the North Pole to bolster the country's claim that the Arctic's Lomonosov Ridge lies in the country's economic zone. A titanium Russian flag was also planted on the seabed. Russia first claimed the territory in 2001, but the UN demanded more evidence. The expedition irritated a number of Western countries, particularly the U.S. and Canada. The general said wars "are won or lost long before they start" and combat training was crucial for the success of any future military operations. "The Americans, for example, recently conducted the Northern Edge 12-day large-scale exercise in Alaska, involving about 5,000 personnel, 120 aircraft and several warships," Shamanov said, adding that Russia could not ignore such a show of military force near vital Arctic regions. He said the Defense Ministry would drastically change its approach to the combat training of highly-professional military units in the Leningrad, Siberian and Far Eastern military districts, which could participate in potential conflicts in the Arctic. He also said two expert groups in his directorate were closely studying combat training models based on computer-assisted combat simulations that have been adopted by some foreign militaries. "We may propose to the defense minister setting up a company-level fully computerized training center at one of the former testing sites," the general said. Russia's General Staff is planning to determine the new composition and size of the Armed Forces by the beginning of July. Meanwhile, the Defense Ministry has already announced plans to expand the presence of the Russian Navy in the world's oceans, including the Arctic, and extend the operational range of submarines deployed in the northern latitudes.

e' proprio il Paese che non conta nulla, perche' da dopo Roma Antica (unico momento storico in cui l' Italia o parte di essa e' stata Grande con la G maiuscola) gli italici hanno sempre giocato a tirarselo nel c... uno con l'altro.
