Libyan Air force to be re-equipped with Rafale and Typhoon multi-role fighters. And some U.S. planes too.

 

Nonostante i problemi per tenere unito il paese i dirigenti libici stanno programmando acquisti per l'aeronautica, visto che dopo l'operazione Odyssey Dawn non è rimasto nulla.

Ecco una prima indiscrezione

 

Libyan Arab Air Force is looking to purchase:

two squadrons of French Rafale, along with a number of French Mirage F-1 aircraft

Eurofighter Typhoons from the UK

C-130 cargo planes and Ch-47 Chinook helicopters from the United States

...

the Typhoon and Rafale multi-role fighters could soon operate under the same flag

...

the plan is to base the Typhoons at Tobruk and Benina airbase in Benghazi, with the Rafale and Mirage jets flying from Gordabaya and Wattya military air bases

Non capisco perchè non adottare una linea unica. Tutto Typhoon oppure tutto Rafale. Perchè mai fare metà e metà?

Per fare contenti sia i Francesi che gli Inglesi, ovviamente...

 

La motivazione è solo ed esclusivamente politica. I nostri cugini d'Oltralpe sono sempre alla ricerca di acquirenti per il Rafale così da abbassarne i costi complessivi (specialmente ora che l'ordine del Brasile è in forse) e la RAF ha già fatto capire più volte che non vede l'ora di togliersi dai piedi alcuni dei suoi Typhoon (tutti quelli della Tranche 1 se possibile)

 

Poi, come, quando e quanti ne potranno prendere i Libici in momento così, beh...
