This aircraft was assigned to 336th BS 95th BG Horham 3/9/1943

Originally named “Destiny’s Tot” and later “Cincinnati Queen, it went missing in action over Ludwigshsafen, 30/12/1943, piloted by Richard Smith.

Three crew were taken prisoner, the others evaded capture.

It went missing on a night practice flight ,6/11/1944, piloted by McVay, probably due to mechanical failure.

This aircraft was initially assigned to 401st BS 91st BG Basingbourn 6/6/1943, transferred to the 412th BS 95th BG 16/6/1943, named “ Lonesome Polecat”.

It survived the war, returned to the USA, being scrapped 9/10/1945.

This aircraft was originally assigned to the 100th BG, Thorpe Abbotts ,30/4/1944.

 

It was transferred to the 412th BS at Horham, 1/5/1945 and renamed “ Carmen’s Folly”.

It was lost on a mission to Cologne, 10/1/1945, it is believed to have crashed at Okeven.

Six crew members being killed and three captured.
