Nuovo ordine in Russia ....

HeliVert - Russian Helicopters' joint venture with AgustaWestland - has clinched a second order from Exclases Russia for AW139 helicopters.

The first of three Russian-built AW139s from the previous contract is earmarked for delivery in June.

The latest deal is for five VIP and utility-configured versions of the medium twin-engined aircraft that will be assembled at HeliVert's plant in Tomilino near Moscow.

"The plant was constructed from scratch and is now one of the most advanced facilities of the kind in Russia," says HeliVert.

"It is expected that up to 15-20 helicopters will be assembled annually to meet the growing demand for the AW139 in Russia and the CIS," it continues.

Treni inutilizzabili in certe condizioni climatiche.

Misteri dell'industria...

AW139 per rimpiazzare 62 UH-1N dell'USAF e AW119 per pensionare 117 TH-57 dell'USN?

AFMC to Host UH-1 Helo Replacement Industry Day .....

Brian Everstine (08/12/2015)

Air Force Materiel Command will host an industry day later this month to solicit information on potential solutions for replacing Air Force Global Strike Command's fleet of aging UH-1N Huey helicopters, according to a government contracting notice released Aug. 10 .....

https://www.fbo.gov/index?s=opportunity&mode=form&id=3737a5905e0910fa9747fb3f6b210d20&tab=core&_cview=0

The event, planned for Aug. 26-27 at Wright Patterson AFB, Ohio, will provide contractors information on a forthcoming capabilities request for information that will detail requirements for the new helicopter.

The Air Force wants to buy up 72 new helicopters, which are used by security forces at AFGSC bases to respond to incidents, protect facilities, and patrol the vast Minuteman III missile fields at the command's bases, among other tasks.

The new helicopter will be an off-the-shelf, in-production aircraft, according to the industry day announcement posted on the Federal Business Opportunities website.

Lt. Gen. Stephen Wilson, the former commander of AFGSC, said this past January in a roundtable discussion with reporters that the service is leaning toward purchasing a modified version of UH-60 Black Hawks to replace the Hueys.

Air Force spokesman Ed Gulick told Air Force Magazine the service wants to award a contract in 2017.

https://www.flightglobal.com/news/articles/air-force-requirement-could-narrow-down-huey-compet-429513/

Before the media flight, one MAU gave the pilot a “miscompare,” says Andrew Gappy, director of US Navy programmes at Leonardo.

Cosa dire in questi casi? Che si rompe ma si ripara facilmente... :metal:

“Part of what you didn’t get to see was that 90% of the avionics are right under the nose, so they were able to pretty quickly open up the nose, do some troubleshooting and say it’s one of the carts inside the MAU that’s failed.”

Boeing also emphasised its “made in America” tagline, although the company is pairing with an Italian partner.

Assieme a qualche piccolo dettaglio...

The lowest tip of the MH-139’s tail rotor is more than 2.13m (7ft) above the ground, providing safer movement around the aircraft for operators, Gappy says.
