E Musk pensò al sabotaggio ...

His rocket had blown up into a spectacular fireball.
The Cape Canaveral launchpad that SpaceX had essentially built from scratch was now in ashes.
And Elon Musk was dumbfounded.
A week after the explosion in September 2016, with still no idea what caused the rocket to suddenly explode while being fueled ahead of an engine test, Musk vented on Twitter that the loss of the rocket was “turning out to be the most difficult and complex failure we have ever had in 14 years.”
On the Internet, where conspiracy theories were already percolating, some speculated that the “something else” was a projectile, maybe even a bullet or UFO.
On Twitter, Musk was asked about the possibility of something hitting the rocket, and he fueled speculation even further by saying, “We have not ruled that out.”
Although they didn’t say so publicly at the time, SpaceX investigators were looking seriously at sabotage, Musk and SpaceX President Gwynne Shotwell said in their most extensive public comments since the explosion.

Elon Musk logged on to Twitter this weekend (*) to deliver a veritable sleigh full of gifts to fans of his rocket company, SpaceX, in time for Christmas.
Musk was waiting for SpaceX's 21st (and record-breaking) rocket launch of the year on Saturday when he revealed that construction of a prototype for a Mars spaceship, called Starship, is now underway at the company's Texas launch site.
What's more, the first round of experimental launches of what Musk called the "test hopper" may be complete by early spring.

Quote

During a ceremony on the final space shuttle mission, STS-135 in July 2011, astronauts on the International Space Station spoke with then-President Barack Obama.
During the call, the astronauts showed off a small American flag, 10 by 15 centimeters, that has also flown on the first shuttle mission three decades earlier.
That flag, they said, would remain on the station until the next crewed American spacecraft arrived at the station.
“I understand it’ll be kind of like a capture-the-flag moment for commercial spaceflight,” Obama said.
“So good luck to whoever grabs that flag.”
Nine years and a handful of days later, that flag is back on Earth.
It was part of the roughly 150 kilograms of cargo that hitched a ride back to Earth on the Crew Dragon spacecraft that brought NASA astronauts Bob Behnken and Doug Hurley back to Earth.
They had captured the flag, and finally demonstrated that a commercially developed spacecraft could transport astronauts to and from orbit, realizing the long-delayed ambitions of NASA and SpaceX alike.

SpaceX ... lanciata la prima missione privata ...

SpaceX successfully launched a Crew Dragon spacecraft carrying four nonprofessional astronauts on its first private crewed mission Sept. 15, a long-awaited milestone in the commercialization of spaceflight.
The Falcon 9 lifted off at 8:02 p.m. Eastern from Launch Complex 39A at the Kennedy Space Center.
There were no issues reported during the countdown or liftoff, with the Crew Dragon spacecraft Resilience separating from the rocket’s upper stage 12 minutes after liftoff after reaching orbit.
The Crew Dragon is flying a private mission called Inspiration4
The four people on board, none of whom are astronauts employed by a government agency or company, will spend three days in space at an altitude of approximately 575 kilometers before splashing down off the Florida coast.

SpaceX’s first private crewed mission ended with the splashdown of the Crew Dragon spacecraft off the Florida coast Sept. 18.
The Crew Dragon spacecraft Resilience splashed down off the coast from Cape Canaveral, Florida, at 7:06 p.m. Eastern.
The splashdown took place 50 minutes after the spacecraft started its deorbit burn.
“Inspiration4, on behalf of SpaceX, welcome home to planet Earth,” Kris Young, SpaceX space operations director, said from SpaceX mission control moments after splashdown.
“Your mission has shown that space is for all of us, and everyday people can make extraordinary impacts on the world around them.”
“Thanks so much, SpaceX. It was a heck of a ride for us,” Jared Isaacman, the commander, responded.
“Things are just getting started.”
