Anche l'Iran si stà muovendo da tempo in questo settore con gli UAV del programma Mohajer (Link)

La novità è che questi droni sono stati venduti al Venezuela source

Under the name of Sant Arpia, the Mohajer 2, a quite famous Made-in-Iran drone, is currently flying in Venezuela.

Reportedly operating from the Cavim (CA Venezolana de Industria Militares) Maracay factory, where a new UAV facility has been unveiled by recent satellite imagery, the Mohajer 2 is a light unarmed drone that can be used for surveillance missions within a range of 50 km from the departure airfield at a speed of 200 km/h. Its ceiling is 11,000 feet of altitude and endurance is reported to be around 90 minutes.

Iran announces new combat drone capable of carrying missiles for air defense missions

On Oct. 14, FARS News Agency reported that Iran has developed and built a new indigenous multi-role, multi-range UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) capable to carry missiles.

Dubbed Haazem (Determination), the new type of robot comes in different versions (short, mid and long range models and air defense) and, although it’s not armed, it can also be equipped with weapons for both air-to-air and air-to-surface missions.

Commander of Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Air Defense Base Brigadier General Farzad Esmaili said that the drone can be employed as a target for air defense systems and also for reconnaissance missions (hence, is it a simple target drone?).

Noteworthy, Haazem drones have already equipped air defense units, even if it is not clear how the armed or unarmed drones are being used to strengthen Tehran’s air defense capabilities: since it’s hard to believe they can actively target incoming threats, the most likely way they can help is by playing the role of enemy drones, aircraft during air defense exercises aimed to train radar/SAM (surface to air missile) sites operators.

Last month, Iran unveiled the new “Shahed 129″ a new UCAV (unmanned combat aerial vehicle) largely based on the Israeli Hermes 450 model.

Iran builds silent drone, or so it claims

Iran leaders have told the national media it has built a drone capable of flying silently with vertical-take-off-and-landing capabilities.

These reports follow earlier claims from the Iranian military that it flew drones from Lebanon over Israeli bases. The Israelis deny these reports, but the Iranians claim to have the intelligence to back it up.

This would not be the first time the Iranians have made unproven claims of their technical capabilities. It would also come at a time the Iranian leadership would like to flex some muscle in light of the Israeli posturing for a potential attack on their nuclear capabilities.

Expecting the international media to call Iran’s bluff, military leaders said the drone will be displayed in February.

U.S. military officials, especially Air Force generals, have said for a couple years that they should start developing weapons capable of targeting drones. These weapons wouldn’t differ much from the ones that shoot down manned planes, but they should be prepared to target the smaller drones prevalent outside the U.S.

No photos of the new drone have leaked out, yet. We here at Defense Tech will remain skeptical until we see at least some visual proof.

Iran unveils new weird flying machine: a tilt-wing vertical takeoff and landing “ultra-advanced” drone

According to the Ettelaat newspaper published on Nov. 8, 2012, the “first vertical takeoff drone in the world” with the name of Koker 1 (Koker is the name of a beautiful bird) was successfully flight-tested and about to be officially unveiled next month at island of Kish.

The tilt-wing unmanned aircraft is equipped with four noise-reduced engines and reportedly features some ultra-advanced technology as multidirectional radars, long-range optics, satellite communication devices, radar evasive devices.

It will be capable of travelling in day and night with 3 hours of continuous flight time up to 170 Km radius up to 12,000 ft, and will also be solar powered.

The drone is developed by the research team of Saman communication group from the state of Mazandaran which previously developed the “Likoo” drone.

Koker 1 will be displayed in the air show scheduled for Dec. 11-14 at Kish Island.

Obviously, it is not the first VTOL drone in the world. Nor is it the only tilt-wing robot being tested or operated: NASA and other less famous companies have been developing unmanned aircraft with tilting wings since some years.

On Oct. 14 Iran announced new combat drone capable of carrying missiles for air defense missions whereas in September, Tehran unveiled the new “Shahed 129″ a new UCAV (unmanned combat aerial vehicle) largely based on the Israeli Hermes 450 model.

Nuovo drone Iraniano con capacità aria - suolo svelato:

(AGI) - Teheran, 18 nov.
